The networking method should be considered from various aspects when designing the system, such as installation and maintenance related to the overall stability, scalability and real-time performance of the smart home system. As for the networking mode, the wired networking mode has basically been eliminated.
The inherent advantages of wireless networking make it very marketable. Now there are many types of networking methods, such as Zigbee, Wifi, Z-wave, etc. Of course, a complete smart home system cannot build a network through wireless communication alone, in most cases, many technologies are mixed.
This article only introduces one kind of wireless communication in smart home – wifi. Wi-Fi has covered all aspects of our lives, and everyone is familiar with it. 1. First, computers, tablets and mobile phones have WIFI modules, so they communicate with smart routers through WIFI.
2. For TV, wifi is required if the TV plays internet TV or internet video. In particular, most TVs sold now have WIFI function or USB interface, which is a WIFI module that can connect USB storage devices and storage devices such as USB interface.
3. Access control video intercom requires online video. In other words, if you press the doorbell on the door, the real-time video monitored by the surveillance cameras outside the door will be transmitted to the portal visual conversation terminal of your home. The transmission of this video stream must use WIFI or wired network.
After it is clear which home devices should use WIFI, the next step will be to consider how to connect these devices to the smart router.
For devices with a display interface (such as mobile phones and computers), it is possible to connect to a smart router through wireless settings, but what about devices that do not operate a display interface? Actually, there are solutions. The Wi-Fi Alliance has introduced a new technology called Wi-Fi Protected Setup (wPS). This technique requires router support. If you need to connect a device that is not running the display interface to the network, just press the WPS button on the router, then the connect button to connect. Of course, pressing the connect button on the machine needs to be implemented by the developer. Of course, this is not the only way to do it.
However, WPS technology has security risks and can be easily decrypted. Later, Texas Instruments (TI), based on WPS, introduced a more advanced WIFI connection technology called SimpleLinks. This technology requires software on the mobile phone to realize the connection between the WIFI device and the router. This technology solves the security problem of WPS in a certain procedure.
