How does “Dry Goods” use the relay networking function?

This note applies to SL series modules with repeater function such as E90-DTU(400SL33), E90-DTU(230SL37), E90-DTU(400SL37).

2 Function description

Relay networking, that is, the relay node plays the role of relay in the wireless network, which can relay and amplify the signal, SOC module thereby extending the coverage of the wireless network.

3 Application introduction

Taking the E22 series as an example, in the relay mode, ADDH\ADDL is no longer used as the module address, but as the network ID forwarding pairing. Relays can forward data bidirectionally between two network IDs.

The relay rule description is shown in the application block diagram (Figure 1):

1) Level 1 relay: The network ID of node 1 is 08, the network ID of node 2 is 33, and the ADDH\ADDL of relay 1 are 08\33 respectively. The signal sent by node 1 can be forwarded to node 2, and the addresses of node 1 and node 2 are the same, so the data sent by node 1 can be received by node 2;

2) Secondary relay: ADDH\ADDL of relay 2 are 33\05 respectively. Relay 2 can forward relay 1’s data to the node with network ID: 05. Node 3 and node 4 are in the relay network. Because the module address of node 4 is different from that of node 1, they cannot receive the data of node 1, so only node 3 can receive the data “123” sent by node 1;

3) Two-way relay: the data sent by node UART module 1 can be received by node 2 and node 3, and the data sent by node 2 and node 3 can also be received by node 1.
